Happy Thursday! Can you believe this blog is already 1 year old? Time flies when you are having fun!

I made my first post on this blog on March 10, 2018! I remember feeling nervous to blog again because I wasn't sure if this was just going to be another blog I start and stop again. Sharing my life with the internet is always something I've enjoyed because you get that one message, comment or response from somebody that says, "Thank you for saying this, I needed to hear it." or "I can relate to this so much!" Those are the things that make this blogging thing so worth it! But being consistent was always a struggle..

I was also nervous to blog again because I had just recently moved back to California in the last 6 months since separating from my husband and I wasn't sure how the world was going to accept me and what I was doing with my life. But, I did it anyway. And I am SO glad I did.

As I look back at the last year, I think the best things I could have done for my blog is..

Finally finding a niche I was passionate about.. I never thought I was a 'foodie' or a 'travel blogger' but that's basically what my blog is about.. going to new places, trying new restaurants, sharing about fun events and attractions. I used to blog about family and & lifestyle a lot when I was taking care of kids full time and I am sure that will start to make it's way back into my content, but for now.. I am really enjoying creating about travel, food & fun.

Investing in Professional Photos.. Everybody is looking for the perfect candid photos to add to their blog and instagram and let's be real.. you can not do it alone. And if you can, then you must have super powers. I am so happy that I found Diana through Instagram and she was on the same page with me about how important it is to have high quality photos of yourself for your blog and Instagram. It's way cleaner and more professional.

Attending Networking Events.. I've said it a million times and I will say it again.. networking and joining a blogging group that meets monthly has opened so many doors for my blog and my business. If it wasn't for The Blog Bloc, I would have never landed my job at the Sacramento RiverTrain. Meeting new people who have the same passions and interests as you is HUGE and key to your success as a blogger. They keep you motivated, they help you with ideas and your vision.

Follow Through.. This might be my biggest improvement when it comes to blogging that I have finally mastered. Follow through. Saying what you're going to do and actually doing it. I am an ENFP on the 16personalities.com website.. if you don't know what I am talking about, definitely go there and take the test. One of the things it says about my personality type is that I have a ton of ideas in my head, but I suck at follow through. Nobody is going to take you seriously about your blog or business if you don't follow through with what you want to do. I created a blog series this year (#beginnersguidetosac) and it has been a blast to work with businesses, restaurants, other social media accounts all because I worked really hard to follow through and make my ideas a reality.

So.. Happy First Birthday, Blog! We've had an amazing first REAL year of blogging and this is only the beginning. If you are on the fence about blogging and don't really know where to start.. you can always come to me. I don't have all the answers but I can always lend a hand to help.

Thanks for joining me and following along on this journey. Your support means the world. Until next time!
